About Lustra Cream
The information below should not be taken as a substitute for qualified medical advice. Consult your health care provider before using Lustra Cream.
Lustra is a cream applied topically to the skin where hyperpigmentation has occurred. This condition simply refers to splotches or darker areas of the skin resulting from such conditions as overexposure to the sun, hormones, or skin injury.
How is Lustra used? Use this medication only as directed by your doctor and the label on the medication itself. The cream should be rubbed gently into the darkened areas only, not on the surrounding skin, and only on dry, clean skin. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after each application. Also avoid getting the medication on your lips or in your mouth or nose as numbness may result. Do not apply more of this medication or use for a longer period than has been recommended.
What to avoid when using Lustra:
- Avoid using this medication on any skin that is burned by wind or sun, chapped, dry, irritated, or on cuts or scrapes.
- Avoid exposure to ultraviolet rays either from the sun or from tanning beds. Wear a strong sunscreen or protective clothing if UV exposure is expected.
- Avoid getting Lustra into any mucus membranes such as the eyes or mouth.
- Avoid using harsh or irritating skin products such as cleansers, astringents, hair removers, hair color or lime.
- Avoid the use of other skin medications unless approved by your physician.
Information to provide your doctor before using Lustra: Tell your doctor about any allergies you may have. If you have kidney or liver disease, this information should be imparted to your doctor. Also let your doctor know if you are pregnant, are planning to become pregnant or are breast-feeding.
