Vaniqa cream is used to treat excess, unwanted facial hair in women. Vaniqa interferes with hair follicle growth and development, gradually resulting in less facial hair growth. Vaniqa does not permanently remove unwanted hair follicles, but it makes it easier to manage the appearance of facial hair in women.

Apply Vaniqa twice per day, washing your hands before and after application. You will still need to remove the unwanted hair using your normal hair removal techniques before using Vaniqa. Wait 5 minutes after removing the hair before applying the Vaniqa cream. Sun screen and makeup can be applied over Vaniqa, but let the cream be absorbed into the skin for a few minutes before applying anything else. Do not wash the areas of your face that you have applied Vaniqa to for at least four hours. Do not get Vaniqa cream in your eyes or mouth; if this happens, flush the area with water.

It may take some time before you begin to see results using Vaniqa. Some women see results as quickly as 4 to 8 weeks after beginning treatment, but it may take longer. If no results are seen after 6 months of use, the treatment with Vaniqa should be discontinued. If you stop using Vaniqa, hair growth may increase to the pre-treatment rate after a few months. If your skin becomes irritated while using Vaniqa, apply Vaniqa once per day instead of twice. If the irritation still continues, discontinue treatment with Vaniqa.

Side effects of Vaniqa include skin irritation, rash, and tingling. Vaniqa may also cause hair bumps.
